Isack Hadjar will become Max Verstappen’s new teammate at Red Bull Racing. In 2026 the French driver will move from Racing Bulls to Red Bull Racing, where he will replace Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese driver will remain with the team as a reserve and test driver.

Laurent Mekies, executive director and team principal: “Yuki has already raced in Red Bull colours for seven years, and I have been fortunate enough to work with him at both teams. Over five seasons in Formula 1, Yuki has become a fully rounded driver who is strong over a qualifying lap on Saturdays and capable of outstanding starts and excellent performances in races on Sundays.

Everyone in the sport agrees that Yuki is impossible not to like. His personality is infectious, and he has become a truly special member of the Red Bull family. On behalf of everyone at Red Bull I want to thank him for his contribution, and we are confident he will provide invaluable support to our future projects in 2026.

As for Isack, in his first season in Formula 1 he showed incredible maturity and an ability to learn quickly. More importantly, he demonstrated pure pace, which is the main measure in this sport. We believe Isack can succeed alongside Max and work magic on track!

The 2026 season will be a serious test for the team and Red Bull Ford Powertrains. Exciting times lie ahead, and I am keen to see what results we can achieve together.”

Isack Hadjar: “I am grateful to Red Bull Racing for their trust and for the opportunity to compete at the highest level in Formula 1. After all the hard work I have put in since joining the junior programme, this is a fantastic reward.

There have been ups and downs in my career, but people kept believing in me and pushing me forward. This year Racing Bulls were an amazing team — I learned a lot and scored my first podium. I feel more confident both as a driver and as a person thanks to the team’s preparation and support.

I feel ready to race for Red Bull Racing, and I am glad they share my feelings. This is an incredible step, and I look forward to the chance to work with the best and learn from Max.”
