Antonelli downplays Ferrari speculation and focuses on winning the Mercedes championship.

Kimi Antonelli has addressed speculation connecting him to Ferrari, emphasizing that his primary focus is on securing a world championship with Mercedes. In an interview with Sky Italia during the ACI Caschi d’Oro awards in collaboration with Autosprint, the Italian rookie acknowledged the allure of Ferrari but clarified that he is pleased with his present position. "Ferrari is an incredible team. Racing for Ferrari is fantastic, but I'm very satisfied with where I am and I'm thankful for the opportunity Mercedes has provided me," Antonelli stated. "My current dream is to win a world championship with them, and then we'll see what happens in the future."
The 19-year-old, who finished seventh in his inaugural F1 season, also looked forward to the upcoming regulation changes next year. "Next year presents a great opportunity for us drivers since we'll all begin fresh," he noted. "No one knows what to anticipate from the cars. I'm eager to get started. Everything seems promising, even though there's uncertainty about our competitors."
Reflecting on 2025, Antonelli characterized it as a significant learning year. "I must say this season was quite positive," he remarked. "Despite having a less favorable period, I managed to break free from that negative cycle, which contributed greatly to my growth as both a person and a driver. The latter half of the season was very encouraging."
He also acknowledged that anxiety still plays a part before races. "The 30 minutes before stepping into the car are the most critical," Antonelli explained. "Sometimes that little voice can create a bit of fear and doubt. However, once you focus and enter that zone where it's just you and your car, you don't think about anything else."
Eurosport Italia reported Antonelli once again denying the Ferrari rumors, reiterating: "Ferrari is undeniably the most glamorous team in the world, but I'm happy where I am. Mercedes has always supported me, from karting to F1, and my dream is to win a world championship with them."
