Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur said the team has long been fully focused on preparing for 2026, but he does not know how competitive the new car will be.

Frederic Vasseur: "I have no idea what the pecking order will be. You know full well that in our sport everything comes down to comparison. I can do my job well, but if someone does it better, I'll look stupid. So we're simply focused on our own project, working at the limit and doing everything we can.

"Of course, the more time you spend developing the car, the better the result will be. However, I don't know whether McLaren, Red Bull or Alpine will be ahead of us. No one knows that, so there's no point in spending time trying to figure out whether our rivals are ahead of us or behind. We'll find that out in Barcelona, although I'm not sure. Maybe the pecking order will become clear in Australia.

"And it's important to remember one more important factor. Next season it won't matter what the pecking order is in Australia. In 2026 everything will come down to how quickly you can evolve the car. Regardless of whether we are first or tenth in Australia, one thing is certain: the season won't end there. We have a long road to the final round."
