Formula E is preparing for its anniversary race.

Today in Mexico City at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez the second round of the 12th season of Formula E will take place, and it will be the milestone 150th race of the electric series, which six years ago was granted World Championship status.

The Mexican capital is hosting a Formula E round for the tenth time. This year the circuit configuration has been somewhat changed: the track in the area of Turn 1 has been made narrower, and the chicane between Turns 8 and 9 has been removed.

Pablo Martino, FIA Director for Formula E Racing: “The Mexico City round is another milestone in the history of our championship, as Formula E has reached the mark of 150 races. The FIA has played its role from the very beginning in organising this cutting‑edge series, and we remain proud to support its development, as Formula E continually pushes the boundaries of technological capability, pursues innovation and promotes an environmentally friendly urban mobility model. Moreover, the races in this championship are exciting and spectacular, with intense competition always unfolding on the tracks, and one can expect that the Mexico City round will fully live up to these standards and delight the fans.”

Oliver Rowland, driver for the Nissan factory team, winner of last year’s Mexican Formula E round and the reigning world champion: “I’m eager to get back on the Mexico City circuit, where we’re competing this weekend, because the races at this round always take place in a wonderful atmosphere. Winning at this circuit in 2025 was one of the best achievements of my career, and at the time I felt that incredible energy coming from the packed stands. It will be interesting to see how the removal of the chicane affects the nature of the on‑track battle — I hope there will be more overtaking. We understand that we must work hard because there are things for us to improve — those are precisely the tasks we are setting ourselves this weekend. Over the past three seasons there has been a trend: whoever wins the race in Mexico City then goes on to become world champion, so I will try to repeat my success from last year.”
