Hamilton reshapes his inner circle as he embarks on a new chapter with Ferrari.
"Lewis remains open to taking risks."
Lewis Hamilton's off-track environment has undergone a significant transformation ahead of the new season, with updates involving his race engineering, management, and communication teams following a challenging year at Ferrari. There are still questions regarding who will take over Riccardo Adami’s role as Hamilton’s race engineer after tensions arose during the 2025 season. In Leo Turrini’s Quotidiano column, former Ferrari driver Ivan Capelli noted that the lack of clarity surrounding the appointment is unusual. "I find it odd that his new race engineer hasn't been officially appointed yet," Capelli stated. "It might just be a matter of hours, but some things should be clarified beforehand."
Additionally, familiar faces around Hamilton have also exited the paddock. His press officer Gabriela Kwaku Yeboah, commonly known as Ella, has departed from her role with the seven-time world champion after managing his media responsibilities and work associated with Project 44. Her next steps have not been disclosed.
Hamilton has also parted ways again with manager Marc Hynes, though it has been characterized as an amicable split. The two initially collaborated during Hamilton’s junior career, with Hynes later serving as CEO of Project 44 from 2015 to 2021 before reuniting with Hamilton in 2024. Hynes has now taken on a full-time position with Cadillac in anticipation of the American manufacturer's entry into Formula 1. A source close to the situation indicated that the separation was mutual, even though Hynes managed Hamilton’s racing logistics and attended every grand prix.
Off the track, Hamilton is now the subject of renewed speculation regarding a connection to Kim Kardashian, following reports of a discreet yet extravagant meeting in Paris.
From a sporting perspective, Capelli believes the current upheaval indicates a driver eager to rebound after a tough season. "I think Lewis is still open to taking risks," Capelli remarked. "He’s coming off a difficult year and is aware of it. He will seek redemption—I can’t envision a disappointing conclusion to his career."
In a completely different arena, Hamilton has expressed a new passion after selling much of his renowned car collection. In an interview with Vogue France, he revealed that he has become interested in collecting cards. "I’m collecting cards," Hamilton shared. "It includes Pokémon, Star Wars, and athlete cards. I used to collect them as a child, swapping them at school, and now my collection is just expanding. I buy cards every week."
