Fernando Alonso: The feelings from the car haven't changed.
Fernando Alonso missed the first practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix, giving his car to Jack Crawford. In the second session, the Spanish Aston Martin driver set the 19th fastest time and said that the updates prepared for the Suzuka stage had little impact on the car's behavior on the track.
Lance Stroll completed both practice sessions and finished the second session with the 21st fastest time.
Fernando Alonso (19th): "Let's see what we can do on this track. The feeling from the car in the second practice was not the best. I would say it is almost exactly the same as it was in previous races.
The team brought several new parts, but during their tests, I didn't notice any significant differences. So we are still behind in terms of speed, and we need to work in the evening to improve.
This is Honda's home race, and in such a challenging time, we must support them like never before. I hope to finish for the first time this season - that is the goal."
Lance Stroll (21st): "I always enjoy coming to Suzuka. It's a great track with an amazing atmosphere.
We completed the entire planned program, and now we will evaluate the collected data to improve tomorrow. There are several areas that need attention and improvement, especially in the fast corners."
