Currently, Amazon is offering discounts on a wide range of items during its Big Spring Sale (visit our Deals page for the best offers). Remarkably, this promotional event also includes actual vehicles. Indeed, you can purchase a real car on Amazon.com. The online retailer is currently providing a $1,250 gift card to Amazon Prime members who complete a car purchase via Amazon Autos.
Amazon Autos appears significantly more sophisticated than it did during my initial visit. You can now browse new vehicles from Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, and Mazda through its "partners" portal, and there’s a surprisingly varied selection of certified pre-owned and used vehicles available as well. I came across a Corvette convertible in an appealing color combination.
Unfortunately, the $1,250 gift card offer doesn’t apply to that Stingray. The terms and conditions are as follows:
- You must be an Amazon Prime member (though you could sign up right now)
- Initiate a purchase of any new car on Amazon Autos (used cars are excluded)
- Complete the checkout and submit your order at Amazon Autos by March 31, 2026
- Schedule a pickup appointment through Amazon Autos, and you will still need to sign the necessary documents from the dealer
- Collect your car from the dealer by April 3, 2026

If you fulfill all these qualifications, Amazon states that within two weeks of picking up the vehicle from the dealership, you will receive an email from Amazon containing an Amazon.com gift card with a $1,250 credit. This promotion runs now through the end of March, which is fast approaching (apologies—I would have shared this sooner had I noticed it earlier).
It’s not exactly accurate to say that “Amazon is selling cars,” as the retailer has simply established a platform for you to engage with dealers. As the site clarifies: “Amazon Autos strives for competitive, no-haggle pricing that allows you to secure a fair deal from the comfort of your home. Although we do not facilitate price negotiations or price matching, we aim to provide transparent pricing information so you can make knowledgeable car-buying decisions.”
I always find “no-haggle pricing” amusing as a feature rather than a flaw. The listed price is always a no-haggle price—if you’re willing to pay the asking amount, there’s no need to haggle. Regardless, having an additional option for purchasing a car is not a bad thing. Just keep in mind that buying through Amazon doesn’t completely shield you from typical car-dealer antics; stay alert for documentation and convenience fees as you get ready to finalize your purchase.
However, if you're in the market for a new Hyundai (I am fond of the Palisade XRT PRO), it's worth looking into this before you complete the paperwork.
