George Russell is cheering for Jannik Sinner.

Between Formula 1 and the world of professional tennis, there are likely some invisible connections, at least on a human level, as some representatives of these two very different sports cheer for each other, follow each other's achievements, and even befriend one another.

In yesterday's quarterfinal match of the Masters series in Monte Carlo, Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner confidently defeated Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. Watching the match, which lasted over an hour and a half, from Sinner's personal box was not only his father but also George Russell, who was there with his girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt.

After the match, they managed to chat a bit, and when Sinner was asked about it at the press conference, he replied: "We are good friends, and I was happy that George was in my box. When I am at the Grand Prix, he invites me to his team's garage. We are friends and support each other."

Jannik is indeed very passionate about Formula 1, and last month at the awards ceremony at the tournament in Miami, he first congratulated another good friend of his, Kimi Antonelli, on winning the Japanese Grand Prix.

Today, for a place in the final, Sinner will play against Alexander Zverev, representing Germany. It is possible that in the stands of the court in Monaco, George Russell or someone else from the drivers living in the Mediterranean principality will be present again, as this year there has been a lengthy break in the middle of the Formula 1 season, giving the participants of the World Championship much more free time than usual.
