The reconstruction of the racetrack in Monza will continue.

The Autodrome in Monza, built back in 1922, has hosted the Italian Grand Prix 75 times and its contract with Formula 1 is valid until 2031. However, the management of Autodromo Nazionale Monza understands that the legendary status of the track is not a guarantee that it will remain on the World Championship calendar in the future, which is why they are carrying out a consistent modernization of its infrastructure.

Recently, the Monza city council approved the plan for another important stage of reconstruction, during which the roof of the pit complex will be completely replaced, and a new race management building and a new hall for accredited press will be constructed during the Grand Prix days.

It is noteworthy that the vote regarding the allocation of necessary investments, which took place at the city council level, was almost unanimous. As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, this important step is taken at a very timely moment, as more and more new racetracks with the most modern infrastructure are appearing on the championship calendar.

In the case of Monza's reconstruction, it is not only about aesthetic issues: Formula 1 has long been demanding specific measures from the organizers of the Italian Grand Prix aimed at modernizing the racetrack, which will undoubtedly require very significant investments.

"The almost unanimous vote confirms that everyone understands the value of our project," commented Giuseppe Redeli, president of the racetrack, emphasizing that holding the Italian Grand Prix annually brings about 250 million euros to the local economy. He also thanked all stakeholders who supported this project – the Automobile Club of Italy, the country's Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Finance, the authorities of the Lombardy region, and the municipality of Monza.
