Leclerc: I remember my first year at Ferrari as if it were yesterday.

Charles Leclerc has been racing for Scuderia since 2019, but his ties to the team from Maranello go back much further, as the Monegasque has been training at the Ferrari Racing Academy since 2015. The Miami Grand Prix was already his 154th race with Ferrari, and Charles is in second place on the list of "long-timers" at Maranello, with Michael Schumacher holding the first position with his 180 races. The statistics are impressive, especially since next season Leclerc is set to surpass the seven-time world champion in this regard if he continues to race for this team – in any case, his contract runs until the end of 2027. When Charles was reminded of this, he replied: "It's strange. I'm still very young and I remember my first year at Ferrari as if it were yesterday. But of course, it's a special statistic. I love this team; I grew up in it even before I started racing for Ferrari in Formula 1. I was a student at the Ferrari Racing Academy and grew up in front of this team not only as a driver but also as a person – overall, it's a truly special group. But I wouldn't want to be remembered as the most experienced driver at Ferrari. I would like to be remembered as a world champion who won the title with Ferrari, and that is still something to achieve. That's what my efforts are directed towards, and I'm not really strong in statistics. I'm not striving to be first in this ranking; I just want to win the title. That's what I'm trying to achieve, and for that, I work hard every day and hope that day will come."
