Daniel Ricciardo: Never say never

      After finishing his appearances in Formula 1 in 2024, Daniel Ricciardo no longer took to the starting line, but he did not sever ties with the racing world, collaborating with Ford Racing as a brand ambassador. Participating in the Speed Street podcast, Daniel indicated that he does not rule out a return to the racetrack in the future.

      "Never say never," Ricciardo replied when asked if he would race in any series. "I like that I don’t have to compete right now; I can just enjoy the little things in life, not be in the spotlight and all that. But do I know how I will feel in three or five years? No.

      Maybe someday I will want to race again, but it will be more for fun rather than to become a champion. I no longer have the need to win trophies, as the drive to achieve a goal can take away the joy of racing.

      When you want to achieve a certain goal, it makes you get out of bed in the morning, go to the gym, work hard, and so on. But sometimes the necessity to do all of this takes away some of the joy.

      I want to be sure that if I ever return to racing, I will do it only for fun. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone or try to be the best. I just want to enjoy racing."
