Indy 500: Qualification start postponed due to rain
The start of the qualification for the Indy 500 race at the famous American racetrack in Indianapolis has been postponed due to rain. The qualifying heats were scheduled to begin today at 11 AM local time, but the weather deteriorated much earlier, about an hour before the start of the morning practice.
Due to the precipitation, although it was not particularly intense, the one-hour session had to be canceled, and the weather forecast promises that the rain may continue all day. In this situation, it cannot be ruled out that the entire qualification program, planned for two days, will have to be moved to tomorrow.
On Sunday, the weather is expected to be better, and a repeat of today's difficulties is not anticipated, although there remains a chance that the heats may still begin on Saturday if the weather conditions allow.
