      Former Formula 1 driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen posted a photo from his hospital room on social media along with a message about his recent back surgery.

      The German driver competed in Formula 1 from 1994 to 2003 for Williams, Jordan, and Sauber. Throughout his career, Heinz-Harald achieved three victories and even fought for the title in 1999, finishing the season in third place behind Mika Hakkinen and Eddie Irvine.

      The day before, Frentzen turned 59 years old, and he jokingly referred to the surgery as a birthday gift.

      "Happy birthday to me!" - wrote Heinz-Harald. - "I just woke up after back surgery and saw hundreds of congratulations. Thank you very much! This year for my birthday, I received a new intervertebral disc. I feel very happy. Greetings from Mönchengladbach!"

      In the comments, Frentzen added that his recovery from the surgery is going smoothly and joked about returning to racing to challenge Max Verstappen at the "24 Hours of Nürburgring" next year.
