Ross Brawn makes a comeback in a MotoGP position.

Ross Brawn is making a surprising return to top-tier motorsport by joining MotoGP. The former head of Mercedes and ex-Formula 1 managing director has been appointed to the board of directors for Pramac Racing, which is backed by Yamaha and currently competing in the championship recently acquired by Liberty Media.

In an official announcement, Pramac stated that the 71-year-old, who has over four decades of experience in F1, including prominent roles at Ferrari and his championship-winning Brawn GP team, will serve as a strategic advisor. After helping to oversee the significant ground-effect regulation changes in Formula 1 that were implemented in 2022, Brawn had mostly withdrawn from public participation in motorsport.

"Motorsport has always revolved around people, teamwork, and ongoing improvement, and I am eager to support Paolo and the team, while contributing wherever my experience might be beneficial. Pramac has developed an impressive organization with a strong ethos and aspirations, and I am thrilled to be involved in its future," he stated.

Team principal Paolo Campinoti remarked, "In addition to his remarkable career and accomplishments in Formula 1, Ross is a person with whom I have enjoyed a long-standing friendship and mutual respect. I believe that his insight, expertise, and winning mindset will significantly enhance the ongoing growth and development of Pramac."
