2027 Ford Bronco Filson: An Off-Road Vehicle with a Raptor Engine Designed for Stylish Outdoor Enthusiasts

      Those who invest in stylish new off-road vehicles are also inclined to spend generously on outdoor gear. Thus, it's logical for two brands in these industries to collaborate. This isn't about ‘Yotas and Yetis; it’s Ford and Filson, a high-end clothing company whose long-sleeve button-ups start at $199 each. If you think the new Bronco Filson will be less extravagantly priced, just wait until you hear about the Raptor engine and leather saddlebags on the seatbacks.

      Before you inquire, I’m uncertain of the price. Ford hasn’t disclosed that information yet. However, we’re looking at a vehicle that includes the Sasquatch package as standard, which offers enhanced HOSS 3.0 suspension and 35-inch Goodyear tires, along with quilted leather and a textured and wrapped dashboard. It takes the classic Eddie Bauer Bronco concept and elevates luxury to the next level.

      Ford teased this Bronco a few weeks ago, vowing to deliver a high-end four-wheeler that surpasses anything it has produced in the past. It is noteworthy that the powertrain is impressive, marking it as just the second Bronco after the Raptor to feature the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6. The Blue Oval manufacturer claims that the engine has been specially calibrated for this model, but it produces 418 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. However, don’t expect a manual transmission; a 10-speed automatic is likely the only choice.

      Other appealing features include ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, a first for the Bronco. It also features acoustic glass and improved seals for the doors and roof, which Ford claims reduce perceived wind noise by 20% compared to the 2021 Bronco. Having experienced several earlier sixth-generation Broncos, any improvement would be welcome, though that's a discussion for another time. Regardless of the noise from outside the Bronco Filson, you can always enjoy the upgraded Bang & Olufsen sound system.

      The partnership with Filson truly shines with the intricately stitched saddlebags, some attached to the door panels, and others located on the front seats or rear cargo area. Plus, there are leather-wrapped grab handles that assist passengers in entering and exiting the vehicle, but such stylish storage is rare in other factory 4x4s. Ford’s press release emphasizes that these bags are crafted from "water and dirt resistant materials," with some being detachable so anglers can take their previously tied flies along (or bring a first aid kit for some casual log splitting in the woods, depending on your plans).

      The Bronco Filson will be available in Field Green Metallic—an exclusive shade—along with Marsh Gray, Avalanche Gray, Desert Sand, Shadow Black, and Oxford White. Anyone who invests in the Filson First Edition will receive the even more special Iron Sands Copper Metallic paint, a distinctive fender badge, a serialized plaque, and cargo storage bags inspired by Filson.

      We’ll have to wait to learn the pricing, but don’t be shocked if it nears the six-figure range. Also, don't be surprised if Ford sells every single one. Perhaps ‘Yotas and Yetis will genuinely become a trend after this…
