Sergio Perez: I was just a few hundredths short.

Sergio Perez was close to making it into the second part of qualifying in Monaco – the Cadillac driver was less than a tenth of a second short. His teammate Valtteri Bottas outpaced both Aston Martin drivers and will start twentieth. The Finn admitted he was hoping for a better result.

Sergio Perez (18th): "I think today we maximized what we had with the car at our disposal. The competition is tight, and I was just a few hundredths short – otherwise, I could have made it into the second part. In Monaco, a lot depends on the driver, and today I gave it my all.

We know that a lot can happen in the race, so we'll see. The team will do everything we can."

Valtteri Bottas (20th): "I was hoping for more today. It seems that the gaps are narrowing, and we outpaced both Aston Martin drivers. I think the track will suit our car, but we had serious issues with handling. We tried all the setups to improve the car's handling, but due to the high ride height, we are losing downforce, making it difficult to drive.

There is an obvious area where we need to improve – it's the attack on the curbs and how the car behaves on bumps. In the last two laps of qualifying, I felt like there was nothing more I could do. It's difficult to drive in Monaco, but we knew this stage wouldn't be easy.

Tomorrow is a new day and a race, so we'll try again."
