Verstappen annoyed the team at the Nürburgring.
Dutch racer Renger van der Zande shared interesting details about Max Verstappen's participation in the May marathon "24 Hours of Nürburgring." According to him, the four-time world champion was extremely serious about winning and irritated many in the team with his perfectionism and pursuit of excellence.
"In Le Mans, I spoke with a person who is very closely connected to Max's GT program on the 'North Loop,'" van der Zande said on the Ziggo Sport channel. "This guy said about Max: 'He's insane. He pushes people, technology, and even shock absorbers to the extreme.'"
At one point, Max appeared in the pits with a box of shock absorbers that he obtained through an acquaintance in France. And he said, "We're going to race on these shock absorbers." AMG representatives were completely dissatisfied: "We don't need them because usually we use, let's say, Bilstein, but in any case, a German brand."
Max is just like his father. You could call Jos on Friday during the karting race weekend and say, "There’s a carburetor in southern Italy that’s half a tenth faster." And Jos would get in the car at night to pick him up.
Max is the same. It's a family trait – to get the maximum out of everything.
