The FIA issued a warning due to the heat in Spielberg.

Before the start of the Austrian racing weekend, the FIA issued an official warning about the hot weather – according to the forecast, daytime temperatures around the Red Bull Ring circuit will exceed 30 degrees on all days. According to the Austrian meteorological service, today the air will warm up to 31 degrees, on Friday it is expected to be one degree higher, and on Saturday and Sunday – up to plus 33. This is a result of a heatwave that has covered countries in Western Europe in the last decade of June. The championship teams have already received a notification signed by Rui Marques, the FIA race director, stating: "In accordance with Article B1.5.10 of the Formula 1 regulations, due to the heat, a weather hazard has been declared, as a forecast from the official meteorological service warns that at certain moments during this race, temperatures will exceed 31 degrees." In this situation, drivers may choose to use special cooling systems that have been tested over the past two years. However, if a specific driver opts out of using such a cooling vest, ballast of the corresponding weight will be added to their car.
