Sainz's father states that Williams has a lengthy journey ahead to recover.

"The philosophy of life should be to never give up."

Carlos Sainz Sr., the father of the racing driver, has acknowledged that Williams is not likely to see significant advancements this season, as rumors regarding his son's future continue. Speculation hints at Sainz potentially exploring opportunities in 2027, although the Spaniard has consistently stated that his primary aim is to assist Williams in their recovery. During the inauguration of Plenergy’s 400th service station, where he served as a brand ambassador, the two-time World Rally champion defended his son's performances. He stated, "The philosophy of life should be to never give up," as reported by Spanish newspapers. "In challenging times, one must have a clear plan and persevere. That’s what Carlos is doing."

"I believe he's having an outstanding year because, given what he has, he can’t do more. Above all, he’s demonstrating that he has not given up, even while competing at the back." Sainz Sr. dampened expectations for a remarkable turnaround at Williams by the season's end, noting, "The gap is too significant."

"It's evident that they will improve. However, the pace of improvement needs to be so extraordinary that they might manage to fight for a spot in Q2, but not much more." He remarked that the current performance disparity within Formula 1 is disappointing. "We've transitioned from the most competitive F1 in history to seeing time differences of four seconds," Sainz Sr. noted. "Let’s hope that gradually Williams and the entire grid will narrow the gap for a better spectacle, where the leading car doesn’t lap the seventh."

Looking ahead, Sainz Sr. mentioned that the upcoming Formula 1 race in Madrid will provide his son with a home event nearby. "While I wish the circumstances were different, he will undoubtedly enjoy a race just 20 minutes from his home. This will give him special motivation, and there are nine more years of the Grand Prix to look forward to."

The Williams driver also affirmed that the team has regressed compared to the previous season. "Last year I would have said yes, but this year I think we’ve taken a step back that puts us further behind," he stated when asked about the team's future prospects for podiums and victories. "That’s a reality."

He added, "However, if you execute things correctly, as demonstrated by Red Bull, Mercedes in the past, and McLaren, you can compete for wins in a few years." "The key is having the right people and the right environment to make it happen." Sainz also dismissed the notion that he is characterized more by hard work than by innate talent. "It annoys me when things are oversimplified," he said. "However, it doesn’t bother me that people view me as a very dedicated worker." "In fact, I take it as a compliment, and I prefer to be seen as a good professional rather than a slacker."
