IndyCar: The first winning double for Arrow McLaren

If McLaren's performance in Formula 1 this season has not been stellar, including the team's inability to please its fans last weekend in Silverstone, on the other side of the Atlantic, Arrow McLaren drivers shone in IndyCar.

Following yesterday's race on the road course in Mid-Ohio, they secured a winning double for their team: Pato O'Ward took first place, and Christian Lundgaard finished second. This is the first such achievement in Arrow McLaren's history, and of course, the team was congratulated by Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing:

"That's how it's done! There's a winning double for Pato O'Ward and Christian Lundgaard, and Nolan Siegel also finished in the top ten. This is the first such result for Arrow McLaren, and the team had a great weekend overall."

For the 24-year-old Dane, whom fans may remember from Formula 2, this is his fifth podium of the season, with three victories to his name, and he currently sits third in the series standings. On the other hand, O'Ward hasn't stood on the top step of the podium for quite some time, but the charismatic Mexican driver is not discouraged.

"To be honest, I wasn't too worried," Pato said after the victorious finish. "I've been in this business for a long time, and I know there are plenty of guys who have been racing in IndyCar much longer than I have, but I'm experienced enough to understand how it all works. A streak of bad luck can't last forever, but the same goes for good luck.

Today we just showed that we can do everything right, and I was able to maintain a great pace!... I knew the victory would come, although I wasn't sure if it would happen in the middle of the season or at one of the last races..."
