The postponed race in the Middle East will not take place in 2026.

The Formula 1 management has abandoned plans to hold the canceled Bahrain Grand Prix later in the season. The reason is the ongoing military actions and logistical issues. These problems were commented on in an interview with German Motorsport-Total by a representative of Pirelli… Dario Marrafruschi, Pirelli Motorsport Director: “Preparing for such an event takes about four months – it takes about 15 weeks for planning and transporting tires. Obviously, we do not have that time right now. Unfortunately, it is still impossible to predict how stable the situation in the Middle East will be, whether the transit of cargo ships carrying our tires is possible. We could go through the Suez Canal and then cross Saudi Arabia from Jeddah towards the rest of the Middle East overland, but since the security situation in Saudi Arabia is also tense, this assumption remains purely theoretical. Unfortunately, at this moment, the dominant factor is uncertainty. I cannot say how long it will take to reach a potential race in the Middle East, partly because even if we manage to bypass Africa, we still need to know if the Strait of Hormuz is open.”
