Ocon dismisses rumors about leaving F1 at the 10-year mark.

      "There isn't a specific deadline."

Esteban Ocon has downplayed the increasing speculation surrounding his future with Haas as he commemorates ten years since his Formula 1 debut at Spa. The French driver’s contract includes an option controlled by Haas for 2027, but an expanding list of potential replacements now features McLaren reserve Leonardo Fornaroli, Toyota-supported Ryo Hirakawa, Ferrari junior Rafael Camara, Yuki Tsunoda, and Haas reserve Jack Doohan. Fornaroli is currently seen as a strong candidate after impressing the team during a recent test, although no final decisions have been made. Nonetheless, Ocon maintains that his future is not an immediate concern.

"Right now, there's no reason to discuss what's next; it doesn’t worry me," he told AFP France. "We’re all concentrating on improving this car. Ayao trusts me, and I have faith in Ayao. The option for extending my contract favors Haas, so we’ll have discussions with them directly later.

"There isn't necessarily a deadline," the 29-year-old remarked. "Typically, discussions happen during the summer, so I think that’s when it will take place." Ocon previously criticized what he called "fabricated" claims about a breakdown in his relationship with team principal Ayao Komatsu, asserting that he joined Haas partly due to their longstanding trust. He also feels that challenging circumstances have made his performances seem worse than they truly are.

"At the start of the season, when performance was quite good, we encountered a lot of bad luck," Ocon explained. "That’s when we needed to capitalize and score points. Following that, our performance dropped significantly. We faced major issues with the car, so we were not competitive at all."

Despite the ongoing struggles, Ocon remains hopeful that Haas can improve. "We’ll test some new parts this weekend and bring even more in the future, so things should head in a positive direction. Will it be enough? We don’t know."

This weekend marks the tenth anniversary of Ocon's debut for Manor at the 2016 Belgian GP. "I don’t feel like I’ve been in Formula 1 for a decade," he said. "Of course, it was very different back then. I was racing against the faces I had always seen on TV: Fernando, Jenson, Raikkonen, all these guys. It was quite special. But, yes, I performed well enough to still be here ten years later, so that’s fine."
