Hamilton: In Spa, we will concede more to Mercedes.
Two weeks ago at Silverstone, the Ferrari team achieved victory, but Lewis Hamilton expects that this weekend the Scuderia will be noticeably behind their rivals from Mercedes. The seven-time world champion spoke about this on Thursday in Spa.
Lewis Hamilton: "It's very difficult to predict anything on this track. There are a lot of straights here.
We came to Silverstone thinking that due to a lack of power we would be much further behind, but we were fast in the corners, so in the end, we performed much better than we expected. In Spa, we still don't fully understand what to expect, except that there are about 50% more straights here.
At the last stage, the gap was three to four tenths of a second. Probably, in Spa, the gap will be a bit larger, but we will do everything possible.
I am very proud of the team's work on the car's upgrades. We make small changes to it every week, and it's great to see. Instead of bringing one update every few months and then another, we try to improve the car little by little at each stage as soon as we find the opportunity."
