Oliver Berman: I don't want to wait years for a place in Ferrari.

      Oliver Berman has repeatedly stated that after Haas, he wants to continue his career at Ferrari and is not ready to consider offers from other teams. However, in a recent episode of the Beyond the Grid podcast, the young driver revealed that Lewis Hamilton's successes in the first half of the season have significantly reduced the chances of a vacancy at Scuderia, so Oliver is ready to join another team that will give him the opportunity to fight for the title.

      Oliver Berman: "A lot has changed in the last six months. As a fan of Lewis, it’s very nice to see the level at which he is performing. Seeing him on the top step of the podium in Barcelona was a special moment for Formula 1 as a whole.

      Three Britons were on the podium, and the best British driver, who is also the best driver of all time, took first place. It really is a special moment, although from the perspective of my future, it’s not the best option.

      I’m still young, I’m only 21. I’m in no rush, and for me, continuing to race for Haas in the foreseeable future is not the worst option. I feel that I still have a lot to learn in this team and a lot to achieve.

      I really want to experience again the emotions we felt in Mexico last year and at other races. I feel the team is moving in the right direction, and I’m very happy to be part of this journey.

      Right now, we are going through a tough period, and this is indeed a serious challenge that toughens character. But I don’t want to be seen as a driver of a team that had a great first year with me and then couldn’t achieve similar results again. So I hope we can improve our speed and earn a lot of points again.

      Of course, I still count on Ferrari and our further cooperation. They have supported me from the very beginning, since I came to Formula 3, and it’s only thanks to them that I am here now. So I owe a lot to Ferrari, and for me, it’s the dream team.

      I say this not only because I am part of it but also because it is probably the most famous brand in the world. My goal remains to one day become a Ferrari driver. Right now, everything is as it is, and we’ll see how things develop.

      Of course, I don’t want to wait three, four, or five years for a spot to open up because there are no guarantees, and in the end, I could waste the best years of my career.

      My main goal may be a bit selfish, and that’s okay because that’s why I’m in Formula 1 – I want to fight for titles. So if I get that opportunity anywhere, I will take it.

      If it means I have to leave Ferrari because they can’t provide me with that opportunity, then that’s life. It’s not up to me. Of course, I want to fight for wins and championship titles, and if I believe that it’s possible with some team, then I’ll be ready to take that step."
