Verstappen: I hope to improve in qualifying.
Max Verstappen showed the fourth fastest time in the second practice of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The four-time world champion stated that the team still has work to do on the settings to improve in qualifying.
His Red Bull Racing teammate Isaac Hajar assures that the car has potential, but the competitors from Ferrari are fast.
Max Verstappen (4th): "Today it was not easy to find the optimal balance of the car. We need to adjust the settings a bit more to really achieve a good lap in qualifying and then show a stable pace over a long distance.
In the evening, we will carefully analyze all the data with the team and see in which areas we can improve. I hope we can find the right direction and make a step forward in the third practice and qualifying."
Isaac Hajar (6th): "It was a challenging day. The conditions on the track were difficult, especially in the second practice when the wind noticeably picked up.
In the first session, the car looked good, and we had a strong pace over a long series of laps. Before the second practice, we adjusted the settings, and the wind picked up, so it's hard to draw conclusions.
The car has potential, but Ferrari is very strong on this track, so we still have to make up time on the lap. We understand the areas where we can improve, and we hope that the changes the team makes to the car by Saturday will allow us to make a step forward."
