Alpine and Audi completed Pirelli tests in Hungary.
On Wednesday, two-day Pirelli tire prototype tests for the 2027 season concluded at the Hungaroring. On the second day, the Alpine and Audi teams were working at the Hungarian track, while Aston Martin held a filming day during which the new version of the Honda power unit was tested. During the tire tests, Alpine and Audi tested the soft compounds C3, C4, and C5, working in both qualifying and race modes, completing stints of 16 laps. The weather conditions were hotter than on the first day: on Wednesday, the air temperature reached +34°C, and the asphalt temperature during the day reached +59°C.
The best time of the day was set by Gabriel Bortoleto – 1:19.917 seconds. The Audi driver completed 116 laps or 508 kilometers. Franco Colapinto's best result was 1:20.139 seconds. The Argentine driver completed 139 laps or 609 kilometers. In total, over the two days of testing, which also included Aston Martin on Tuesday, 660 laps or 2892 kilometers were completed. The next prototype tests of Pirelli slicks for the 2027 season will take place on August 26 and 27 in Mugello.
