Aston Martin and Glenfiddich celebrate the second year of partnership.
Glenfiddich, the world-famous brand of Scottish whisky, became the official partner of the Aston Martin F1 team in 2024, and it is already becoming a tradition that in August they delight enthusiasts of this drink with new releases.
Today, the team from Silverstone, along with their Scottish partners, presented two new versions of single malt whisky that will be released in limited editions. Their name is long – Glenfiddich & Aston Martin Formula One Team Limited-Edition Release No.2, and it makes sense to translate only its ending, i.e., "Release No.2."
One variant is announced as a 16-year-old product, the other as a 19-year-old; in both cases, as the team reports, their "exceptional quality is defined not only by what can be seen with the naked eye but by the subtle nuances hidden beneath the surface."
Of course, parallels are drawn with Formula 1, as Brian Kinsman, the chief specialist at Glenfiddich, trusts his instincts when creating his creations, but Adrian Newey, the head of Aston Martin F1, also first imagines the new car in his mind.
"Different types of craftsmanship, different raw materials, yet the psychological approach is the same: an instinctive sense of what the final result should be, a discipline based on precision, curiosity, and the ability to foresee," the team formulates it.
The agreements for a long-term collaboration between Aston Martin F1 and Glenfiddich were signed in November 2024, and since then, the partners periodically present special varieties of whisky that not everyone gets to try – not only because the limited edition inherently restricts their availability. These varieties are quite expensive – the 19-year-old version sells for 230 euros per bottle. However, if you're lucky, you can find them at a more moderate price in duty-free shops.
