Hulkenberg prepared to commit to Audi for the long haul.

Nico Hulkenberg has expressed his willingness to continue racing for Audi as long as the team desires his presence, with previous uncertainties regarding his 2027 seat now diminishing. The 38-year-old recently broke his points dry spell by finishing P9 in Hungary and believes that his season performance has been considerably better than the standings suggest.

"There’s a significant gap between the standings and what actually unfolded on the track, as well as our position as a team," Hulkenberg told Sport Bild. "Looking at the table, you might think it's nonsense. However, if you analyze the individual races and assess the overall situation, it becomes rather clear."

Hulkenberg is contracted until 2027 but envisions the possibility of extending his stay. "You should never say never, yet it is still too soon to consider that," the German stated. "I'm focused on the present, taking it one year at a time." He added, "As long as I’m enjoying myself, the timing is right, and the team wants me, I’ll keep driving for Audi. I can see that lasting for quite a while."

Currently, he emphasizes that Audi’s growth as a works team is more critical than future contract discussions. "What truly matters right now is that we are progressing correctly with the project. We are making strides." He concluded, "The rest will follow."
