IndyCar: After Palou's sixth victory, he is one step closer to the title.

      Alex Palou secured his sixth victory in the 13 races already held in the IndyCar season – this time the Spanish driver from Chip Ganassi Racing was the fastest on the road course in Portland.

      Palou has already achieved three victories on street circuits this year, two on road courses, and a July win on the oval track in Nashville. With five races left in the season, he leads the individual standings with a 110-point advantage, and the likelihood of someone overtaking him is extremely low. However, the battle for second place will continue between Kyle Kirkwood, David Malukas, Christian Lundgaard, and Pato O'Ward also still has some chances to become the series vice-champion.

      But Palou, after his 25th career victory, and competing in IndyCar since 2020, is already on his way to his fifth title.

      The second place in the race at Portland International Raceway was taken by Swedish driver Felix Rosenqvist, who started from pole – he is the one who won the classic Indy 500 race this year. Next season, Felix will be racing for Arrow McLaren, and it is possible that his seat at Meyer Schank Racing (MSR) will go to Mick Schumacher.

      By the way, the son of the seven-time world champion performed relatively well in Portland, finishing 16th after starting from a distant 23rd position and becoming the best among rookies, which increases his chances in negotiations with MSR.

      Joining Palou and Rosenqvist on the podium was Will Power, a 45-year-old Australian driver from Andretti Global and a two-time champion of this series, who has been competing in IndyCar since 2008.

      “Today I had not a car, but a rocket!” Palou commented after the finish. “Once again, everyone who works with car number 10 did an incredible job, and I am very happy to secure either my fifth or sixth victory this season – it doesn't matter how many there were. Overall, everything is going wonderfully!”

      The next race of the season will take place in a week on the street circuit in the Canadian city of Markham in Ontario – this stage replaced the race in Toronto in 2026.
