Orihara: The Dutch Grand Prix is an important stage for Honda

At Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), they have long promised to prepare an updated, more efficient power unit for the Dutch Grand Prix and believe that this is an important milestone in the history of cooperation between Japanese engine manufacturers and Aston Martin F1.

In Hungary, the team presented an upgraded version of the AMR26 chassis; additionally, in Zandvoort, Fernando Alonso's and Lance Stroll's cars will feature several more aerodynamic enhancements, and combined with a more powerful engine, this should provide a noticeable increase in speed.

Recall that on Saturday at the Hungaroring, Alonso made it to the second part of qualifying for the first time this season, finishing the race in 14th place, while his teammate moved up one position. Immediately after the Hungarian race weekend, the team held an official filming day and tested the updated RA626H engine for the first time, which made a quite impressive impression.

Shintaro Orihara, head of the racing team and chief engineer of HRC: "The Dutch Grand Prix is an important milestone for Honda, as we will present our power unit in a new specification. This is the result of a period of intensive work that we conducted at the base in Sakura, coordinating efforts with the British division of HRC and the Aston Martin F1 team.

The weekend program in Zandvoort includes a sprint, which means we will only have one practice session on Friday. Since track time is limited, this will create additional challenges in conducting a comprehensive assessment of the updated car's performance, but we are ready to carry out these tests.

In Hungary, we saw that the team, by presenting a new chassis, made a step forward. Now that we have prepared a new specification of the power unit, we, together with the team, are counting on further progress in the remaining races of the season."

Rumor has it that the upgraded internal combustion engine has become 30 hp more powerful, although in one of his previous comments, Orihara, without revealing HRC's actual achievements, hinted that they are somewhat more modest.
