Kolapinto and his sponsor criticize the FIA stewards.

      Franco Colapinto and his main sponsor Mercado Libre criticized the FIA stewards' decisions regarding the incident during the race in Zandvoort.

      At the start of the race, Franco Colapinto overtook Yuki Tsunoda just as double yellow flags were waved due to Max Verstappen's crash.

      For this overtake, Franco received a penalty drive-through, which took him out of contention for points. The Argentine believes that the stewards need to act more flexibly.

      Franco Colapinto: "The penalty drive-through ruined my race. I had a very good start and was hoping for points, but in such conditions, it's impossible to understand how events will unfold.

      It was the first lap, everyone was fighting, trying to overtake, the asphalt was wet and slippery, and suddenly debris from cars was flying across the banking. I noticed the yellow flags too late, but at that moment, braking sharply was even more dangerous than completing the maneuver – cars around were sliding.

      I believe that in this case, the rules should be more flexible. There should be criteria to assess what actions can be considered safe in such a situation. If someone is going 30 km/h slower, you overtake them, and then a yellow flag appears, there's little you can do. It's very difficult to react to that."

      Mercado Libre has supported Colapinto's career in Formula 1 since his debut with Williams in Italy '24. Mercado Libre's marketing director Sean Summers spoke very firmly against the stewards on social media...

      Sean Summers: "The stewards' decisions undermine the integrity of Formula 1. This season, they are proving that they are acting incorrectly and affecting race results.

      Incompetence? Dishonesty? Both? There is clearly something wrong with the culture of this organization."
