Christian Klien has rejected the idea that Red Bull would have exited Formula 1 had Max Verstappen chosen to leave. Klien is familiar with the organization, having been supported by Red Bull prior to their acquisition of an F1 team and being placed with Jaguar in 2004. In an interview with the Dutch publication Formule 1, the 43-year-old Austrian emphasized that Red Bull's dedication to the sport extends well beyond a single driver. "Trust me: Red Bull is not simply going to abandon the sport like that," he stated. "Just look at the in-house engines they are developing at Red Bull. That's a significant investment." "They also own a racetrack and a television network. Much more has been established around Formula 1 than people might think." "In the end, F1 remains the most effective marketing tool for a brand like this." Klien mentioned that Verstappen’s new long-term deal is indeed very significant, but not the sole reason for Red Bull's continuation in Formula 1.
