      Ferrari has announced that its first ADUO power unit upgrade will make its debut at Monza, with the new specification expected to deliver approximately 15 additional horsepower. "It's a positive step, and this year is all about minor enhancements," team principal Frederic Vasseur stated in Ferrari's preview for the Italian GP. In a separate interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Vasseur referred to the engine as "a significant advancement" but cautioned against having overly high expectations right away. "Developing the engine during the season, given the constraints of budget and time, is genuinely challenging," the Frenchman commented. "We are making strides, although we don’t anticipate being able to close the gap to Mercedes at Monza, as it remains considerable." "However, the objective is clear - to keep progressing and focusing on what we know we can still achieve." Vasseur was also asked about Toto Wolff's recent remark regarding Mercedes' limited capacity for further upgrades under the cost cap. "Honestly, no," he replied when questioned if he shared that concern. "We’re at ease, as I believe the other teams are too." "We’re not the only ones delivering many updates - just look at McLaren, for instance." He stated that the larger threat to budgets comes from frequent significant accidents. "When three or four incidents of that nature occur, the overall budget burden that needs to be managed becomes substantial." Regarding Ferrari's championship prospects, Vasseur once again hesitated to look too far into the future. "First and foremost, I’d say we need to enhance our performance, both in development and on the track, to achieve greater consistency." Following McLaren's consecutive victories in Hungary and Zandvoort, he conceded that Ferrari's recent performance has not met expectations.
