      Ferrari has announced that its first ADUO power unit enhancement will be unveiled at Monza, with the new specification estimated to provide an additional 15 horsepower. "This is a step in the right direction, and we know that this year focuses on incremental improvements," said team principal Frederic Vasseur in Ferrari’s preview for the Italian GP. In a separate conversation with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Vasseur characterized the engine as "an advancement" but cautioned against having overly high expectations right away. "Improving the engine during the season, given the limitations of budget and time, is quite complicated," the Frenchman noted. "We’re making headway, yet we don’t anticipate closing the gap with Mercedes at Monza, due to the considerable distance between us." "However, the objective is clear - to keep progressing while concentrating on our capabilities and what we know we can accomplish." Vasseur was also asked about Toto Wolff’s recent statement regarding Mercedes’ limited opportunities for further upgrades under the cost cap. "Honestly, no," he replied when asked if he shared that concern. "We’re at ease, and I believe the other teams are as well." "We’re not the only ones making numerous updates - just take McLaren, for instance." He pointed out that the greater threat to the budget comes from multiple significant accidents. "When three or four instances like that begin to happen, the overall financial burden becomes considerable." Regarding Ferrari’s championship prospects, Vasseur again avoided looking too far ahead. "I’d say we need to prioritize improving, performing better, both in development and on the track, to enhance our consistency." After McLaren’s consecutive wins in Hungary and Zandvoort, he acknowledged that Ferrari's recent performance has not met expectations.
