Crack: In Monza, we can see the record for the number of overtakes.

      Aston Martin's racing director Mike Krack believes that due to the characteristics of the track, the race in Monza could set a record for the number of overtakes. The previous record was set during the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, when a chaotic race interrupted by rain saw 186 position changes by the end of the lap. In the first Grands Prix of this season, there were instances where a driver overtaking an opponent, having depleted their battery charge, almost immediately lost their position. On the long straights of Monza, the likelihood of such a scenario is quite high. Mike Krack: "It will be interesting to see how closely the real situation resembles the results of our modeling, and how teams will cope with it. On one hand, we can talk about how significant or minor this effect will be, on the other hand, one needs to be able to closely follow an opponent to execute an overtake. This weekend, there are quite a few restrictions regarding energy accumulation and consumption. It will be interesting to see how teams address this issue, how easy it will be to overtake, and how many reverse overtakes there will be. This weekend, we might see an all-time record for the number of overtakes; the competition could be as vibrant as in MotoGP. Will the level of risk increase? Usually, throughout the weekend, teams' approaches to energy usage per lap converge, so I don't expect any significant differences. But if drivers consume energy in completely different ways, then the risk increases."
