Carlos Sainz: The car was working well.

      During the Friday practice sessions of the Italian Grand Prix, three drivers took the wheel of the Williams. Carlos Sainz completed both sessions, while Luke Browning replaced Alex Albon in the first session, marking his second appearance in free practice this season. The British team is pleased with how the first day of the weekend went.

      Alex Albon (16th): "It was a shortened day for me, but overall, Friday went well. We are still lacking speed, but it feels like we are moving in the right direction. Luke did a good job in the first practice, trying out several solutions regarding the floor, so the car is in decent shape now. I think we will make only a few changes overnight. Considering my grid penalty on Sunday, we will focus on long runs tomorrow to prepare for the race, which I hope will be interesting."

      Carlos Sainz (17th): "The car worked well today, despite the limitations it has. We conducted several interesting tests in both sessions that should help with the setup throughout the weekend. All three tire compounds suited us – the difference between them was small. We will continue to adjust the setup and analyze the data before tomorrow's qualifying."

      Luke Browning (15th in the first practice): "It was great to be back on track in the first practice. This is my second time participating in the first session this season. I have fond memories of this track from my time in Formula 2 – I won the Sunday race here and started from pole. My main task today was to provide feedback to the team and try out several setup options for Alex. I think everything went well, and it should help him and the team prepare for the rest of the weekend. As always, I am very grateful to the team for the opportunity to drive the FW48 again."
