Perez can make a comeback to F1 following his 'sabbatical', according to his father.

      Sergio Perez is not facing any barriers in his potential return to Formula 1 following a break. This perspective comes from his father, Antonio Perez Garibay, a Mexican politician who has played a significant role in the career of the recently dismissed Red Bull driver.

      At present, after losing his position for 2025, the 34-year-old Perez claims to be content spending time with his young family and plans to delay any decisions regarding his future for the next six months. His father has recently mentioned the possibility of entering Formula E but is now communicating to the local sports newspaper Esto that Perez is satisfied with his current situation.

      "Checo has been involved in go-karting since he was 8 and participated in car races every weekend until now, when he has stepped away from Formula 1," stated Perez Sr. "If he were racing, he would be focused on training, along with dealing with uniforms, caps, sponsors, and merchandising issues. So currently, he enjoys a period of relaxation. He is taking things slow. As he mentioned, he plans to wait these six months, and if a good opportunity arises, he will consider it."

      Perez Garibay is now retracting his previous suggestion about transitioning to Formula E, instead proposing the concept of a traditional Formula 1 break. "Consider how many Formula 1 drivers have taken a sabbatical and successfully returned," he remarked. "(Niki) Lauda did it, Kimi Raikkonen did it, Fernando Alonso did it. Many drivers have taken breaks and come back even stronger. I am confident that a great opportunity will arise for Checo to return for several more years. He deserves a proper farewell like the legends."
