When Alpine signed Franco Colapinto as a reserve driver, many thought that the team would soon part ways with debutant Jack Duen in favor of the promising Argentine. Perhaps this is indeed the case, but for now Alpine F1 chief Oliver Oakes assures that Jack will have full support... Oliver Oakes: "We didn't invite Colapinto to motivate Duen. It's just that we're looking for options for the future. We need to make sure we get the best riders, not just now but in the future. The first round of the new season in Melbourne is Duan's home race. I think that will take a little bit of the edge off the emotions he's going through and make it a little bit easier for the team to adapt. We will support Jack in everything and give him the best chance to prove himself".
