Komatsu: Gene Haas won't have to spend money in 2025

In 2025, for the first time in the history of Haas F1, its owner, American businessman and multimillionaire Gene Haas, will not have to allocate funds to finance his team. Last season it finished 7th in the Constructors' Cup, just seven points short of 6th place. That is, the smallest team in the championship could well outpace the factory Alpine, but the latter was just lucky in Brazil, when both of its drivers climbed on the podium, but that's another story. The end of the season Haas in any case held much more stable, earning points at eight of the last nine stages, which allowed it to outpace the Racing Bulls, Williams and Sauber, which have much more resources. Decent result implies a decent reward, and Haas will receive from Formula 1 quite a decent amount of prize money, but it should also be noted that the team has a good partners. - Ayo Komatsu confirmed in an interview with the official championship website. - So now we have to solve other problems, we must ensure that we do not exceed this limit. It's great that we finally reached this level, but now we need to make sure that everyone reorganizes psychologically and understand what goals we are striving for. The same applies to the situation with the budget. In the past, our budget was always less than the authorized limit, and if we had money, we could just spend it without worrying about anything. But now we have to respect the budget limits, and it also requires a completely different psychological approach. It seems that finally we have solved many problems - we started the test program on the cars of previous years of production, reached the maximum possible level of the budget and began to work with a profit. If we take into account last year's prize money, sponsors' money, etc., this year for the first time Gene will not have to spend his own money. There is still a lot to do. In 2024 we finished the season in 7th place, and the goal for 2025 is 6th place. But so far the team from year to year does not manage to perform consistently, so even if we can claim the same result and fight for the 6th or 7th place in the Constructors' Cup, it would already be a huge achievement".
