Vowles: Everyone will benefit from the further development of Formula 1

Last year Formula 1 reached an agreement in principle with General Motors on the manufacturer's arrival in 2026 under the Cadillac brand, but questions remain about how this will affect the financial situation of today's teams. GM will have to pay compensation for the reduced share of prize money due to the emergence of the 11th team. At first it was about $200 million, then the amount was demanded to triple, but many believe that even in this case, Formula 1 needs to achieve even greater success in order to keep all the teams. James Vowles, head of the team Williams: "The interest of such a large manufacturer as GM, indicates the success and demand for our sport. It's a sign of growth, a sign of where Formula 1 is going. As far as I know, the amount of compensation has not yet been approved. It's part of the 2026 Treaty of Agreement, which is not ratified at the moment. But it's still not enough, I've always said that a new team coming in will cause a financial loss for the existing teams, so it's important to develop our sport sufficiently, to look for revenue growth, because everybody will benefit from that."
