Leclair: Lewis joined the team at the right time.
The day before, the Ferrari team ran a new SF-25 car in Fiorano. As the Italian press found out, Charles Leclair completed one of the laps in 56.6 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the best lap shown during the run-in of last year's SF-24.
After the races, Charles talked to the press and answered questions about the beginning of cooperation with Lewis Hamilton.
Charles Leclair: "I think Lewis came to the team at the right time. Frederic Wasser is good at keeping the team's morale at a very high level, and Lewis' arrival will give everyone a boost. But at the same time, I feel that everyone in the team is very calm and clearly understands in which direction it is necessary to work. The events that are currently taking place around the team do not particularly affect the attitude of employees. This is very important, and it's really nice to see this happening.
It's always very interesting to work with a new team-mate, especially if your team-mate's name is Lewis Hamilton. He has achieved a lot, so it's great that I have the opportunity to observe him and analyze his approach to work, how he communicates with engineers, what comments he gives, what he pays special attention to.
I have already said that he is the most successful driver in Formula 1, so I am watching his work, trying to analyze everything and learn from Lewis in these first weeks. So far, he and I haven't driven the same cars on the track at the same time, but I've already noticed some of the peculiarities of his driving style.
Everything is going really well. Lewis and I have a very good relationship, and we've already been able to spend quite a lot of time together. I can't wait for us to start racing together."
When asked if he was surprised by the public's attention to Lewis, Charles replied: "No, it didn't surprise me. A lot of attention is always focused on Ferrari. There's even more of it this year because Lewis joined us, but dealing with that kind of attention is part of the job, and we're doing a great job with the team.
We were running in Fiorano, and I saw the madness going on around the track. It's just amazing. I see only positive aspects in this."
