Mercedes refutes claims that the agreement with Ineos is "on the verge of breaking."

Mercedes’ Formula 1 team has refuted claims that it might soon lose its one-third owner and significant sponsor, Ineos. The Telegraph reports that last year, team principal Toto Wolff had disagreements with his fellow one-third owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder and CEO of the chemicals firm. Correspondent Tom Cary noted that they "came close to parting ways." This news follows the recent unveiling of Mercedes’ new livery for 2025, which features Ineos branding that is now hard to identify. Roger Benoit, a well-respected journalist in the Formula 1 community, has similarly reported that Ineos "is said to be burdened with a mountain of debt amounting to several billion." Nevertheless, a team representative maintains that Mercedes’ relationship with Ineos is "ongoing and stable," affirming that the partnership "is not in doubt." However, it is evident that the red airbox 'Ineos' branding seen on Mercedes’ 2024 car during Lewis Hamilton’s last race for the team in Abu Dhabi last year has now been completely removed, with that area painted grey in the 2025 livery. Ineos and Ratcliffe, 72, have yet to provide any comments.
