Helmut Marko: Newey is a big fan of Verstappen

      Helmut Marko, Red Bull's motorsport consultant, said he sees nothing surprising in Aston Martin's interest in Max Verstappen. According to the Austrian specialist, the initiative to invite Verstappen comes from Adrian Newey.

      "It's no secret that Adrian Newey is a big fan of Max, so it would be logical if they tried to propose to him," Helmut Marko said.

      When Marko was asked how realistic the one billion pounds figure that Aston Martin allegedly offered Verstappen for the contract was, Helmut replied: "I doubt if the offer is really that generous, given the current stock price of Aston Martin.

      It's a high bid, and we don't know if such an offer exists."
