Red Bull Racing is not entirely happy with the test results
After three days of pre-season testing, Pierre Vache, technical director of Red Bull Racing, was forced to admit that the team's business in Bahrain was not going as smoothly as he would have liked.
Pierre is yours: "The tests did not go as smoothly as the team and I had hoped. But it's better to identify the problems now than it will happen later, already during the season. That's what tests are for, to figure out a new car.
The weather was not very typical for this circuit, which also did not contribute to efficient operation, but we tried to unlock the potential of the RB21 and understand how it reacts to changes in settings. I think we've more or less succeeded.
In my opinion, it is difficult to predict what the balance of power will be at the first stage of the season in Melbourne. So far, we can see that the top four teams have shown pretty good speed, including us. However, we didn't watch too closely what others were doing, as we tried to focus on our own program.
I'm not completely satisfied with the test results, because sometimes our car didn't behave the way we wanted, but we're moving in the right direction. It's just that things are not going as well as we expected, so we have a lot of work ahead of us in the process of preparing for the first race of the season and further upgrading the car."
