The court sided with Ferrari in the dispute with Cardile
The dispute between the Ferrari team and its former technical director Enrico Cardile over the timing of the transition to Aston Martin has gone to court.
In July last year, Cardile signed a contract with Aston Martin, where he was to receive the position of chief technical officer. Since then, the teams have been arguing about the timing of when he will be able to start work.
Ferrari insisted that this could happen no earlier than a 12-month "sabbatical", while Aston Martin expected Enrico Cardile to join them in early 2025. As a result, the case went to court, which sided with Scuderia.
According to the Modena court's decision, Enrico Cardile will not be able to start working at Aston Martin until July 18, 2025. The decision was made taking into account the fact that "other Formula 1 teams would not gain an unjustified competitive advantage by hiring Cardile earlier than allowed, causing irreparable damage to Ferrari."
In turn, Aston Martin limited themselves to a short statement: "This is a matter for Enrico and Ferrari, as well as their legal representatives in Italy. The parties continue to participate in the process, so we will not be making any further comments. The team will make a statement when the time is right."
