Lando Norris: I'm ready for the start of the season!
The McLaren team is starting the new Formula 1 season as favorites, and drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are determined ahead of the first stage in Melbourne, Australia.
Lando Norris: "I am happy to start the season in Melbourne! This is a special circuit for me, as I made my McLaren debut here in 2019. The track has suited us in the past, and I hope that this season we will pick up where we left off in 2024. The team has conducted the tests productively, but we will only find out in Saturday's qualifying what positions we are in.
I think it's going to be an exciting season, in which we'll see a tight fight. I hope the fans will find it interesting to watch. I'm ready for the start of the season!"
Oscar Piastri: "Walking towards the paddock on Melbourne Walk always charges with positive emotions. I've had phenomenal support in Melbourne, and it still feels surreal to see the fans chanting my name. It means a lot to me, and I am very grateful to everyone for their support.
Maybe I'm a little biased, but the atmosphere in Albert Park is always special, and if you consider that this year's opening of the season will take place here, the event will be even bigger. I've been looking forward to this first race since the season calendar was presented, because it means a lot to me.
I'm very proud to represent Australia, and I'm looking forward to racing in my home country and hometown in front of my fans."
Andrea Stella, team principal: "The 2025 Formula 1 season will officially begin this week, and we will arrive in Melbourne for the first of twenty-four races. Everyone at McLaren has worked hard over the winter to prepare for one of the most unpredictable seasons.
The Albert Park track is conducive to good racing. I thank everyone in the team, our technical and commercial partners, as well as the fans for their continued support ahead of another exciting season."
