Antonio Perez: Sergio is preparing something important
Antonio Perez, the father of former Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Perez, said that his son is working on an interesting option for returning to Formula 1. Perez Sr. did not answer a direct question about whether he was talking about a contract with the new Cadillac team, but promised that the fans would like it.
"Sergio is preparing something big and important for the Mexican fans – they will be very happy and proud, and I hope that this will last for many years,– Antonio Perez said on Mexican television. Sergio is looking forward to returning to become a champion, because that's the only thing he lacks.
In other words, he has no reason to return to Formula 1, except to become world champion. He has already become a vice-champion, which was previously not possible for riders from Mexico.
He had opportunities to stay with other teams this season, but their level wasn't high enough. He deserves to be at the forefront."
