Franco Colapinto to fly to Australia with Alpine

      In 2025, Alpine has three reserve pilots – Franco Colapinto, Paul Aron and Rio Hirakawa. As the British press found out, Franco Colapinto will fly with the team to the first stage of the season.

      This decision was clearly made by the team for a reason, because it is the Argentine rider who is called the main candidate to replace Jack Duane in the event that he cannot prove himself in the eyes of the Alpine management before the start of the European part of the season, and first of all Flavio Briatore.

      In Melbourne, Colapinto will stay with the team, participate in all technical briefings and, if necessary, will drive. At the same time, Paul Aron will work on the simulator at Enstone, helping the team with the settings.

      Franco Colapinto is expected to fly to the second Grand Prix of the season in China, and Rio Hirakawa will fly to Suzuka for the third stage to participate in the first session of free races.
