Alpine shot a commercial inspired by Deadpool

Before the Australian Grand Prix, Alpine shot a cinematic commercial featuring racers Pierre Gasly and Jack Duane, with references to the music video from the movie Deadpool.

Since 2023, Hollywood actor and producer Ryan Reynolds, who starred in the Marvel Studios trilogy about the adventures of Deadpool, has been among the investors of the Alpine team through his marketing company Maximum Effort Investments.

The company not only invested in the racing team, but also took over part of Alpine's promotional activities. As part of the new marketing strategy, the Enstone team began interacting with a young audience on social media through regular references to pop culture and the Marvel cinematic universe.

The video released today was shot as part of the same strategy. The video begins with Pierre Gasly kneeling surrounded by flames, and the song Ashes performed by Celine Dion is playing. This is followed by a transition to the next frame in the style of classic James Bond films – Jack Duane is shown in close-up, and the inscription appears on the screen: "The script for the film was written in a panic at two in the morning." After that, Pierre and Jack's identical hairstyles are ridiculed.

There are also direct references to Deadpool in the video, such as in the scene in which Pierre falls from a height in slow motion and Jack poses on a chair.

Ryan Reynolds himself posted a video on social media with a comment about the style of which is usually referred to as "untranslatable pun" (Let's kick some ashes this year), but we will take the liberty to interpret this phrase as "Let's set the heat this year."
