Formula 1’s busy travel calendar is already creating issues in 2025, as several leading teams experienced late delivery of their cars and equipment in Shanghai. With only a few days between the opening Melbourne-China double-header, a single cargo plane delay left the mechanics from McLaren, Red Bull, Mercedes, Williams, and Aston Martin with little work to do in the Shanghai garages. The sport’s exclusive tyre supplier, Pirelli, is also impacted. In response, the governing body FIA decided to shorten the standard curfew on Wednesday "due to the logistical challenges ... resulting from delays in freight arrival." All the teams affected have indicated they will be prepared for free practice on Friday, although deviations from other curfew regulations may be necessary.
